This weekend was the aLive 1st birthday party, despite the fact that it was only the 12th alive and not the 13th, but we celebrated anyways. This was the first aLive since the Mercat closed, and was held at a new venue the Bendigo Hotel in Abbottsford. The pub seemed to work quite well, with a decent beer garden and a large enough bistro to fit us all in comfortably, the sound system seemed fine and the food was excellent. It was also an opportunity to see Funky Monkey (Sal) DJ and she was pretty good, especially since it was only her second gig ever :)

where's the bendigo? i've tramped over a fair bit of abbotsford and don't recall seeing it.
it's actually more collingwood I think. It's on Johnston st between Wellington and Hoddle, a block west of The Tote.
