how about you, you, you

Zoo Day today.

Went to Werribee Open Plains Zoo for Matthew Annable's third birthday, to try and convince him that he does have an Uncle Scooter, and that I am not, in fact, imaginary. Needless to say my presence in his life has been somewhat scant, having only been to his 0th and 1st birthdays prior to this. I was planning to buy him a copy of Where the Wild Things Are, but couldn't find it, so instead got him a couple of zoo related books (including a musical one for his dad to enjoy). Luckily I couldn't get the Sendak, because he's already got it, which I probably should have assumed given that his mum's a teacher (and cool enough to like Sendak).

A good day was had by all, we spent a bit of it sitting around and we all went off on the bus tour that's included in the admission price. On the tour I was on we were lucky enough to see two Zebras fighting and also to see the new baby Rhino, so pretty good stuff.

Matt is very social, and was chatting to everyone about his presents and what he was doing and what he'd seen so far and just about anything that ran through his head :) a lot of fun to watch, scary how big and how smart he is, but that's what you get for not showing up at family functions for two years :o
